Thoughts from Psalm 119:161-176 in the Passion translation.
There’s something so true about the phrase, “There’s no place like home.” I love to travel, but I have to admit that I love being at home. Sometimes, if I’m not careful, I can get too comfortable being at home and I have to make myself get out of the house. But even in the comfort of my own home, I am not at total peace. The only way that will happen is when we get to Heaven. Life here on earth is not our eternal home. Someday we will arrive when we get to our final home, eternity with Jesus Christ.
We will always face rough times and trouble, but when we are seeking God, fully devoted to Him, that is when we can have peace. There is no way for us to be perfect. Only Jesus has lived on this earth as a perfect man, but we can strive to live each day fully committed to God. The good news is, even when we mess up, God will come after us, over and over again.
I think the end of Psalm 119 is a pivotal moment. We can continue to live our lives the same way we have been. We are all on different levels on our walk with God, but we can all press deeper, we can all do more. We can all walk the walk stronger than we ever have. I encourage you to live out the Word and let God shine out of your lives through your actions, behavior, and attitude. God has given us His love letter, His words through the Bible to help us every step of the way. Whatever is in our hearts is what flows out of us. So, plant the Word into your hearts deeper than you ever have. Our actions are powerful. They can lead others to Christ when we have the love of God flowing out of us every moment of our lives. God will strengthen us and help us to put His Word into action.
Romans 10:17 says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ” (ESV). I have asked you guys to do this a couple times throughout our study of Psalms, but I want you to look back at today's Scripture and read it aloud today. Let the Word of God sink into your heart and your faith to grow stronger today.
Scripture: Psalm 119:162 Your promises are the source of my bubbling joy; the revelation of your Word thrills me like one who has discovered hidden treasure.
